Phenom-Trap is pretty silly.
I think the game was more interesting with base equipment. This is probably doable with it, I got up to Ancient Codex but the amount of remaining lifebars was discouraging.

Surprise Horizontal STG by Team Ladybug. Cool game but the difficulty modes apart from Ridiculous(?) are way too easy once you figure out and abuse the shield&bomb mechanics.
You also get an absurd amount of lives from score so its practically impossible not to 1 credit clear.
I do like the addition of arcade mode. Playing ridiculous difficulty on arcade would be nice.
Ridiculous mode and not abusing the bomb that gives you powerup/life per use might be the most fun way to play this game, def gonna try and clear it. (you cant on arcade due to 1 pause per stage)")

This is a decent step up over the launch ver. Lunatic which is cool. Last boss is peak especially on this mode. Motivated to play some more.
Played with the challenge preset to reduce resource gain. Not a big difference but appears to make the bomb/life count a little more reasonable. Still seems easier than lunatic of most games though. Sanae looks really strong for some sections.

Got this on my first try after 1CC:ing Normal mode. Hard seems only slightly tougher and you end up getting more score extends so the end of the game is ironically easier than the start (at least for me).
Very cool presentation and music in this game though and scoring seems fairly fun. For survival its very much on the easy side comparing to recent indie shmups or older arcade releases. Its a solid game but not revolutionary if youre just going for a clear IMO. I need to give the score attack modes a shot.
Im glad they added the Restricted sword control type after the demo, you can aim the sword on an arcade stick towards your current movement direction then lock the direction with the shot button. Makes the control mechanics not feel half-assed compared to how it works on gamepad, and has a somewhat similar snappy feeling to the sword in Radiant Silvergun, etc.
With the game being so heavy on the visual presentation it makes sense to do story mode on your first playthrough, though having to press Start to see mid-stage talking sequences is weird to me. I cant be bothered to reach there on my stick as its out of the way..
Sektori also released on Steam today which is a great twin-stick shooter, Ill definitely try to dig into that one.")
