London walking tour around the fascinating streets just north of the Barbican. This area was almost completely destroyed during the Blitz in December 1940. But this is an area rich with great London history which we explore on a city walk that takes us from Aldersgate Street and the location of Slough House in Slow Horses, down Fann Street to the site of the Fortune Theatre. We take a look at Golden Lane Estate and the history of Golden Lane. Then we walk along the ancient Whitecross Street, cross Old Street then go up Central Street, Lever Street to City Road. The last section of the walk goes along Shepherdess Walk, Micawber Street, and Wharf Road to the Regent's Canal.
