If you’ve ever stayed at a Marriott hotel and thought… “that was fine… but was it really worth the cash or points?” Then there’s a good chance you’re not using Marriott Bonvoy correctly. Marriott is the largest hotel chain in the world with over 8,000 hotels across 130 countries, and once you understand how this program works, those same stays can turn into elite perks and free hotel nights. You can earn points when you stay at Marriott hotels, with most properties earning 10 points per dollar, and elite status can boost that by up to 75 percent. Add the right Marriott co-branded card to your wallet, and in theory, you could earn over 20 points per dollar spent, which is pretty nuts. Second, Marriott offers Free Night Awards with the unique ability to top them up with an extra 15,000 points each to book nicer properties. And when you redeem points, try to book five nights, because Marriott gives you the fifth night free on award stays, which can dramatically increase the value of your points.
