Making a guitar pick out of something that's several hundred million years old is probably a fairly unorthodox pastime so I'm lucky to have a friend called Paul Clacher who does just that. Paul has made me quite a few gemstone pick treasures over the years and I love them all. This one, which he calls 'The Reactor' sandwiches two substances together for a kind of 'reactive' quality when the strings are hit. I was, like you, a little dubious at first when he told me about it, but having tried the S-Tone Reactor, I can tell you it actually imparts a kind of energetic 'pop' quality on the string attack AND it looks and feels fantastic. Another treasure for me, and you too if you give him a yell via the link above. Lovely work, Paul!
