Hotone's Verbera Convolution Reverb is a true 32-bit powerhouse of Impulse Response technology. Firstly, it sounds amazing, largely due to the 120 factory installed IR's that include 'standard' reverb spaces like rooms, halls and churches, through to obscure spaces like carpet rolls, concrete shells, arenas, domes plus a slew of echo/reverb hybrids that can transform the simplest of notes or chords into ambient soundtracks. The Verbera can handle and almost instantaneously load IR's up to 20 seconds long (about twice the length that much of the competition offers) and store up to 1024 of them. In addition to these IR's you will find a secondary reverb on call, which they call 'XR', which also doubles as a 'Freeze' facility for pads, soundtracks and chordal stuff. There are 200 preset slots for you to store your creations in and the 100 factory presets are pretty amazing places to start. MIDI and expression pedal capability are both built-in and you can even use the Verbera to clone reverbs from other machines you may have at your disposal (not demoed in this video, see link below). The Verbera is true and immersive stereo (or mono) and Hotone tell me that it's the first Convolution Reverb pedal to be built from the ground up in China, something they are understandably very proud of. The Verbera is the first pedal from their NeonGlow Series and after playing with this one, I sure am looking forward to seeing and hearing what else is on offer. Beautiful work, Hotone!
