Two separate incidents from one shift in Hanover Township, New Jersey.

First, officers track a stolen iPhone to a residence using the victim's Find My iPhone location. The occupant says he was out partying and knows nothing about the phone, even as the GPS puts it inside the house. After signing a consent to search and being shown the evidence, he admits to taking it and leads officers to where he hid it: on top of a vehicle's tire.

Second, an officer stops a man pushing a Walmart shopping cart down the sidewalk, who explains he is using it to help him walk. A warrant check turns up an active shoplifting warrant, and a search incident to arrest turns up drug paraphernalia.

Charges filed: theft by unlawful taking (N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3), theft of a shopping cart (2C:20-11B(6)), possession of drug paraphernalia (2C:36-2), and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance (2C:35-10(b)).

All subjects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
