Stevedore Stopper Knot - How to Tie the Stevedore Stopper Knot 🛠
The Stevedore Stopper Knot is a rather easy knot to tie and it is also relatively easy to untie even if it has been under load. The Stevedore Stopper Knot makes a good hand grip at the end of a rope, but it is mainly used to prevent the end of a rope from unreeving.
It has been suggest that the name of the knot came about from Stevedores, longshoreman, docker or dockworker, who would load and unload cargo from ships. I did also read somewhere that the name came about, as there was one company that had a brand of rope known as the Stevedore. If I find out any more information on this I will post it here:
