*How to cast onto a ring when net making using the Cow Hitch method.*
When making Purse Nets and Round Nets they often use a metal ring, and in this video you will learn how to cast onto a ring using the Cow Hitch method of casting onto a ring. It is also worth noting that when net making, you do not need a metal ring, you can actually create your own ring out of twine or cordage.

Before you actually start casting onto a ring, you need to secure your twine to the ring. The two knots that I personally use are un-slipped versions of:
*Evenk Hitch:* youtu.be/bF_DZ1uqX7U?si=mERPH4uHzEPIaOTE
I use the Evenk Hitch as it is not only easy to tie, but it will also pull up tight against your ring, giving you a nice secure noose knot.
*Imitation Slipped Bowline:* youtu.be/-ZsPYA9aaGE?si=6tEhdgSN-fmG7dNK
Both videos above show slipped version, so just forgo the slipped part to ensure a good secure knot.
I use the Imitation Slipped Bowline, as this is not only a good secure loop knot to tie around an object, but being a loop knot, it will allow you to remove the object if you are casting onto a length of rope that is later to be removed.
