The Shake Hands Bend is a good way of joining two slippery ropes together. The Shake Hands Bend is a very secure knot and is easy to tie. I have seen some information on the Shake Hands Bend that says that it is relatively easy to untie when it has been loaded. However, in my experience I have found that it can be rather difficult to undo when it has been put under heavy loading.
