Blake's Hitch - Friction Hitch - How to Tie the Blake's Hitch

The Blake's Hitch was often used by arborists (Tree Surgeons) to assist in the ascent and descent of a rope. The great thing about this friction hitch is that it can easily be moved up and down the length of a rope. However once weight is put on the standing end, the Blake's Hitch grips firmly around the rope and will not move. The Blake's Hitch is a stable knot, but the addition of a stopper knot can also be added.
