In July of 2025, the California State Railroad Museum foundation and all the many hard working volunteers were able to restore and bring back to life two historic steam locomotives! The Sierra Railway no. 3 in Jamestown, CA is running again after about 4 and a half years out of service. As seen in the video, this was the official launch of the locomotive back in service! In Sacramento, CA, the Granite Rock no. 10 is running after about 6 years out of service. That thing sure does have an amazing whistle! It'll awesome to see these two locomotives running again in service, especially with Christmas and the Polar Express trains right around the corner! Enjoy the steam!
