Back in December of 2022, a quite unusual BNSF grain train made an appearance through the Tehachapi mountains as it was making its way to a grain industry in Guernsey, CA along the BNSF Bakersfield Sub. The train originated in Sweetgrass, MT and had to take the detoured route through the transcon. I took advantage of the awesome winter lighting and chased the train from Cameron all the way into Bakersfield. There was only one BNSF locomotive on the train even though the train itself is a BNSF train! The power consisted of CP 8204, CSXT 3309, CP 8610, CP 9801, and BNSF 6151. Also, notice in the first clip that the rear manned helpers gave a few taps of the horn as they were shoving the heavy grainer up a 2% grade. Sit back and enjoy the chase!
Thanks for watching! đđŧ
