British composer, arranger and conductor who mainly was active as arranger for vocalists such as Alma Cogan, Patsie Jones and Ronnie Carroll.
Foster recorded two orchestral albums dedicated to the music (style) of Bert Kaempfert, namely “Sounds Like Kaempfert” and "Music The Kaempfert Way" Another of his recordings was released under the title “Twenties music my way”.
Occasionally he used the pseudonym "Stan Forrest" and his work was released through different record companies eg EMI, Philips, Capitol and Columbia Records.
THE TOUCH OF YOUR LIPS
"The Touch of Your Lips" is a romantic ballad written by Ray Noble in 1936. The original version of the song, which has become a standard, was by Al Bowlly. Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole and Andy Williams are among the vocalists who recorded the song.

If you like the music style of Bert Kaempfert, you sure are going to enjoy this one. Stan Foster, like so many others, was mesmerized by Kaempfert's music, and more particularly by the typical soft swinging sound of Kaempfert and His Orchestra. So here it all is : the percussive brass, the wordless vocals and the typical outspoken bass - in one word : the Kaempfert Sound. The repertoire choice for the two Kaempfert albums as recorded by Foster is excellent. "The Touch of your lips" is a very good example thereof. Enjoy !
