Attempting to simulate stacked leather and find a use for baltic birch plywood offcuts. Cut out in 1-inch squares (of differing thicknesses), center drilled, then stacked and glued on the tube. Turned near final diameter and stabilized with CA glue. Final shaping and sanding to 320 grit then finished with CA glue to provide more stability. Initially tried staining with permanent markers but this resulted in bleed. Final pen (dark brown) had the squares dyed in alcohol ink before turning.
