Let's address the elephant in the room really quick... This map will only work if you have A Mountain Trip Chapters 1 & 2 by id.dav81 installed.
Don't get me wrong, I love A Mountain Trip and I also like this map I'm playing for y'all today. There's 2 issues with this though which imo are glaring faults.
The first is with A Mountain Trip: It alters game files for certain weapons and ammo pickups. You won't notice this in the gameplay because I do have some altered files of my own, but it is an issue 99% of people will notice.
The second is the fact that you need somebody else's map in order to even make it function. Again, in my case it's not too bad since I have a lot of storage on my PC, but for people with limited space it can be an issue. It can also lead to some issues if the map author whose assets this map borrows isn't notified first and an agreement is reached (in this case between id.dav81 & Wolfen325). I am assuming in good faith that Wolfen325 got id.dav81's blessing.
ACTUAL REVIEW
The combat is about what you'd expect, secrets are pretty well hidden, but what makes this map stand out is the dialogue... It's just all over the place.
Sam is a drunken lunatic who spews out some of the most deranged rubbish in the history of the human race. Idk if it's on purpose or because English isn't the author's native language, but it's definitely my favorite part about this map and always has me questioning my sanity every time I decide to play it.
There is a complete disregard for context and comedic timing that honestly makes the Sam quotes way funnier than they should be. I guarantee you'll lose your mind by playing this map and trying to make sense of all the insane crap Sam spews, and the gameplay is solid & challenging enough to keep you thoroughly engaged the entire time.
