After a bit of a drought, success! Another full Hell run of respectable length and thoroughness. Just under a month since the last completely successful Hell run too.
Spelunky Lesson of the Day: No death, so what can I say? Well, I did have a near death moment when a Sceptre shot nearly killed me. Fortunately it only sapped part of my Kapala-boosted health rather than served as an instant kill (as it will if you have less than 10 HP).
6:35 - Damn, I was a moment too late to get that damsel. It's frustrating how it doesn't count if it enters after you leave, even if the time difference is minimal. Plus, my haste caused me to lose my shotgun too, with the lack of damsel reward making that loss even more annoying.
11:22 - I don't think I've ever seen that visual bug with the water there before, though the circumstances to cause it to happen must be pretty rare.
21:07 - Should've got the golden idol in that level too. Not sure why I forgot to go get it.
26:27 - I once had a commenter posit a plausible-sounding theory that you might be able to keep your weapon upon respawning with the Ankh if you die by Mammoth ice. It definitely seems to be false in terms of being frozen on the ground (not sure about mid-air) as the weapon jumps out of your hand, though it's possible that this once was feasible via this method by clandestinely patched out due to it kind of being an unfair advantage.
32:58 - I was very lucky that I didn't get instantly killed by that backfire. Fortunately I had 10 HP to spare. Immediately after, I very nearly got crushed while stunlocked.
46:24 - While the shotgun is probably still unquestionably the better weapon, the camera is of particular use in Hell. I knew things would be harder for me if I took it, but I wanted to experience Hell with the camera for once in my Spelunky career. The camera, if you don't know, stuns normal enemies but instantly kills various "undead" enemies. Since Hell is rife with the undead, it's not a bad choice of weapon if you somehow have it but no shotgun.
