Though I got lazy about continuing my light modding (partially because I'm busy with other projects and also partially because some people have already accomplished some of the things I set out to do), I thought one relatively easy addition would be modifying a number of strings within the game. (Thanks to YouTuber DoomMariner for informing me this was possible!) I didn't change everything, but I did change a number of things such that the game feels like it has a little more deliberately-written personality now. The default strings are sufficient for the game, of course, though I feel many of them are quite perfunctory as well. Hopefully now stuff like level feelings, sacrificing, and deaths will be livened up a bit in my runs. [ And it's not bad practice for me one day wanting to create a Spelunky spiritual successor. ;) ]
1:52 - This string is a bit misaligned due to long length, and I didn't manage to catch that before this recording.
19:02 - Now this was very unexpected, but very pleasant as well. I felt I wouldn't see this message for a long time due to the level feeling's rarity, but lo and behold it turned up in this early string test right away!
25:31 - That really works better with a comma, I feel, so I made that adjustment afterward.
27:54 - That's a risky maneuver right there, ladies and gentlemen.
28:43 - Forseeable, especially with my difficulty with ladders when using a controller, but I still think this was a pretty good run overall despite me not knowing what was going to happen when I tested out the strings.
