On December 8, 1914, representatives from eight universities met at the Rice Hotel in Houston to formalize the creation of the Southwest Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, later known simply as the Southwest Conference (SWC). The organization consisted almost entirely of Texas schools for most of its 82-year history, bringing national recognition to the Lone Star State. This promotional film shares highlights from the 1974 football season, including the Baylor Bears winning their first SWC title in 50 years under head coach Grant Teaff.
