How do you use S&Q Motion in the Sony a6500? This is how to create slow & quick motion, easily, in camera. My gear: kit.co/rayortega/sony-a6500-vlogging
S&Q Motion is a feature of the Sony a6500 for filming slow motion (up to 120fps) or quick (time-lapse) videos that don't need to be processed/conformed in the edit. The video is ready made, straight out of the camera and you can see the results instantly on playback.

To film quick motion aka a time-lapse:
1. Switch the a6500's mode dial to video (filmstrip icon)
2. Go into the menu, tab 2, page 1, item 1 "Movie/S&Q Motion" press enter
3. Scroll to S&Q M (Manual). You can try other exposure modes as well.
4. Back in the menu, tab 2, page 1, 4th setting, select "S&Q Settings"
5. Record Setting = 24p
6. Frame Rate = 1fps (tip: select higher fps for faster moving subjects to see more of the action. Experiment with speeds).
That's it. Shoot your time-lapses! At 24p, 1fps, I like to film for at least 3 minutes which will give me approximately 7.5 seconds of video to use in the edit which is usually more than enough time for a single shot.
To film slow motion video:
Follow the same steps above for quick motion except change the Frame Rate setting in Step 6 from 1fps to 120fps.
Now you'll get the slowest motion the a6500 can record; twice as many frames as most DSLRs.
