Who remembers Smash 4? The trailblazer of the bunch that came out with two different versions, added a bunch of Nintendo's up-and-comers as newcomers, and gave players more ways to customize their experience than ever before! While remembered more nowadays as the entry that bridged the gap from Brawl to Ultimate, it played an important part in the series' history.
But have you ever wondered how it could've ended up...different? If a few new characters were given a chance while a few in our timeline were not? If new modes or features were attempted that never happened for us? Or what if the two versions of the game we're used to were something else entirely?
This is a continuation of an ongoing series that started one year ago, which explores how Super Smash Bros. might have turned out in an alternate timeline. Now, let us continue along that timeline, and see what form the fourth Smash game took.
