Is it already time for people to start talking about the next Smash Bros. game? With the Nintendo Switch (probably) nearing the end of its run and its successor console (probably) only a year away, the Smash community is picking up discussion again about what Smash 6 (or whatever it's called) might be like. And while fans are divided over what direction they want Ultimate's followup to go in, there is one thing most agree on: Hoping some of the features from previous entries make a return.
One of those is the Custom Specials from Smash 4! This feature gave every (non-DLC) fighter alternate versions of their specials to choose from. Underwhelming and impractical to use as it might've been in practice, it was such a cool idea that there're many fans hoping an improved versions shows up next game. But what form could that take? Let's go over how a revamped take on Custom Specials could take the movesets of Zelda, Olimar, Sheik, and Meta Knight and make them better than ever while drawing from more parts of their source material than ever before!
