The Art of Nature - Germany | Skiing in the Alps and traditional Bavarian baking - GERMAN VILLAGE LIFE @theartofnaturegermany | Uploaded February 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Happy to share another countryside vlog for the month of February! In this one I take you along to go skiing in the Bavarian Alps on a wonderful snowy and sunny day on which the mountains looked stunning! I also explain to you why February is the month of storms in south Germany and show you some stormy beauty, just to top it all of with some breathtaking drone footage I shoot during sunset of the Alps, the endless spruce forests of my region and the area around the village. Furthermore I filmed the process of making 'Krapfen', atraditional Bavrian/German pastry we eat during February at carneval or the Funkenfeuer (I explained these traditions in my last video: youtu.be/UH7Iuy5C_og ).
Here the exact measurements for the vegan Krapfen recipe:
400 g flour
1 cube fresh yeast
200 ml soy milk
60 g magerine
50 g sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/2 packet vanilla sugar
150 g strawberry jam for the filling
1 liter sunflower oil to deep fry them
powdered sugar for the topping
After you added the warm milk to the yeast, let it rest for: 11 minutes
When you finished the dough, let it rest for: 50 minutes
Before you deep fry the Krapfen, let them rest for: 25 minutes
