Barefoot walking has become a global health trend, that has lots of amazing physical and mental health benefits like the stimulation of the blood circulation or releasing stress through grounding. Pfarrer Sebastian Kneipp, a German priest of the 19th century, is famous for his teachings about walking barefoot in cold water, to stimulate the blood flow, strengthen the cardiovascular system and healing cronical cold feet. So we as Germans know for a long time about the health benefits of walking barefoot in nature.

Also in the Chinese medicine, barefoot walking is famous as an accupuncture everyone can do on it's own and for free. It stimulates certain organs and body functions. Walkning barefoot on different natural grounds also builts up the foot muscles, which helps with knee, leg and back pain and prevents bad posture and deformaties. From the mental side, barefoot walking is also a spiritual praxis called grounding. According to this barefoot walking works like a meditation, because you're feeling so much, that the senses are overtaking the brain and it becomes easy to stop thinking.
