How to plan and use a very simple stub-end three-track switching yard with a basic locomotive shop and turntable. A quick amendment: Once the arriving train is in the arrival track, the road engine can head to the roundhouse, and a switcher can pull the string of cars out, thus using all three tracks to build up the next train out on the run-around track, thus using that as the departure track. This way, cars from the three-track can be added to the outbound, and arriving cars can be moved to the three-track.
