@twiddlersnook is showcasing new birthday goodies recently released from our Simon Hurley create. (@simon.hurley) line. Mixing stenciling with Solar Pastes, her background is super fun and shimmery! Combining this awesome background with images and sentiments from Snappy Birthday is the perfect combo!🥳
Supplies:
Simon Hurley create.:
-Solar Paste: Sublime
-Stellar Ink: Siren Song, Red Flag, Fruitcake, Overzealous, Ultraviolet, Roar!
-Snappy Birthday Stamps and Dies
-Bold Candles Stencil
Tim Holtz Distress:
-Embossing Ink
-Sprayer
Ranger
-Anti-static Pouch
-Embossing Powder:Super Fine Detail White
-Glossy Accents
Other:
Foam Squares and Strips
Instructions:
-Start by ink blending the Bold Candles stencil on a white piece of cardstock. I chose an array of the new colors being released: Fruitcake, Overzealous, Ultraviolet, Siren Song, and Red Flag. After inking the flames on the candles with Roar!, spread Sublime Solar Paste through that portion of the stencil. Remove the stencil, set the panel aside to dry and clean your stencil right away.
-While that is drying, stamp and heat emboss your sentiment on black cardstock. Then trim it down to a block using your paper trimmer or scissors.
-Then stamp and color your image from Snappy Birthday. I typically use Copic markers but color with whatever medium makes you happy! Then use the coordinating die to cut the image out.
-With the stenciled panel dry, ink blend more Fruitcake ink around the edges of the panel. Then smoosh the inkpad on an acrylic block, spritz with water and flick that across your panel for added distressing and visual interest.
-To assemble your card, glue the background panel to a card base, then use foam squares to pop up your image and sentiment strip on that.
Finish the design off with some Glossy Accents for a little extra shine.
