Can Gandalf, Goku, and Aerith survive the original Sims? In today's video, we are jumping back into The Sims 1—but not as you remember it. I’m playing on Simitone, a modern open-source engine that brings the 2000 classic into a fully 3D environment with high-resolution support.
The highlight of this episode is the use of Custom Mods, which allow for Custom Characters that replace the classic sprites with fully 3D models. We’re touring some incredible crossover families, including:
The Lord of the Rings: Checking out their Middle-earth inspired build.
Dragon Ball Z: Seeing how the Saiyans handle suburban life.
Final Fantasy VII: We’re taking Barret and Aerith out on a date!
Instead of a traditional Let's Play, I’m focusing on the building aesthetics and "people watching" the NPCs to see how these high-def custom models interact with the retro world of Simitone.
