Silca Futura - Code Maker - LW16 Old B&D Fat Roller Door Key
In this video, I take a look at the old B&D roller door key blank LW16 and show the process of creating a new cutting card using the Silca Futura Code Maker software. What should be a simple key ends up turning into a long and complicated process as I measure, enter data, build the card, and test everything before the key can even be cut.
The Silca Futura is packed with technology and allows locksmiths to create custom cards for keys that are not already in the database. However, for older and uncommon keys like the LW16, the amount of work involved can be surprisingly time-consuming.

• Cutting the key to code once the card is completed

After going through all the steps, it really makes you appreciate how quick and straightforward some older code machines can be. The amount of technology involved is impressive, but for a simple roller door key the process feels ridiculously slow and overcomplicated compared to using an HPC Blitz.
