A mycologist from India, has developed a severe case of silver leaf disease in this throat. A special staining technique for fungi, revealed the presence of long, root-like filaments called hyphae in the infected area.
What is even more shocking, is the fact that a pathogen has made jumps, not across species, but entire kingdoms. Fungal diseases are not uncommon in humans, but the reason for this extremely rare case is yet to be determined.
