"One singular sensation, every little step she takes ..." Sing it, baby! You look marvelous! From 1983, a line of singing and dancing Muppet numbers perform "One", written by Marvin Hamlisch and Edward Kleban, for the 1975 musical "A Chorus Line". I adore their perfect little gold hats.
Main performers in the TV version: Number 1 (Fran Brill), off-screen director (Jerry Nelson), off-screen stagehand (Richard Hunt), and Ivy Austin as a voice in the chorus. For the video release ("123 Count with Me"), the intro and closing scenes were cut and Ivy replaced Fran's vocals.
The original song is heard in the 1985 TV special, "Night of 100 Stars", as the Rockettes escorted a long line of massive stars onto the stage. Worth it just to see tough guys like Charles Bronson and Michael Caine in tuxedos and top hats, lol. The clip below is the only one I've found online that includes Jim Henson. The much better clip from the same night is the Muppet-filled finale ("New York, New York"), with thanks to @That Hat Guy.
