From 1971, Ernie (Jim Henson), not wanting to disturb Bert's (Frank Oz) newspaper time, plans to write down what he needs to say. He interrupts Bert to ask him how to spell "HELP", which worries Bert. Is Ernie hurt? Does he need Bert's help?! First aired in Season 3 (Ep 287), can you spell "THANKS!", kids? Groovy, let's do up a big sign for @Sesame Maniac, yeah!
I hesitate to use the word "RARE" around these parts, but I've certainly never seen it before.
I love how Bert's movements in that horrendous chair prop are so charmingly awkward. Early days, they were still finding their footing, as it were. And the newspaper permanently attached to Bert's hands. That's my favourite part, especially when he tells Ernie, "I've put the newspaper down!" and it's very clearly still there. Love it.
