"In a pretty little house made of celery, there lives a little kittycat family ..." It was the '80s, what can I say? Other than get a gander at this beauty, eh?! I've called it "Three Pretty Kitties" by film and animation pioneer, Evelyn Lambart (1914-1999), sometimes called the First Lady of Canadian Animation, with a voiceover (and bongo background music) by Sesame Street's resident beat poet, Ferlinghetti Donizetti (Richard Hunt). Gorgeous and outta sight, man!
Another goodie Lambart did for the show, "Seven Little Mice", with a voiceover by Bob (Bob McGrath), is linked below, both on its own and with Bob reading the story to a group of kids.
Over Evelyn Lambart's many years with the National Film Board of Canada, often as the ONLY female on the artists roster, she had some exciting collaborations with the legendary Norman McLaren, then later as a solo director. Please enjoy Lambart and McLaren's masterpiece, "Begone Dull Care", among others, linked below, along with the lyrics for this groovy tune. Pretty good chance this was shown in French on the Canadian version of the show, but I can't confirm.
For funsies, you may recall Ferlinghetti Donizetti's most famous tune, "Rappin' Alphabet" (voiced by Kevin Clash, I believe), which featured Grover break dancing, a real sight to see.
