Since I'm so late with this, it looks like we're going to be having 2 polls this month! Yay! Haha, here is the rundown for September's vote, featuring 5 new samples in various genres.
The first is an upbeat, inspiring track that fuses hip hop elements with orchestral instruments. The track is called "It's Possible," which lets you know exactly what the tone will be. We're buckling down and accomplishing what we set out to, no matter what. We have some cello, violin, piano, horns and drums come together to fuse this plucky little tune.
Next up is "Cheap Drinks and Smoke Screens." This is a dark noir style piece with lonely piano and seedy saxophone. We're transported on some city street at night, desperately trying to find clues to close this wild goose chase of a case. I imagined entering a suspicious little bar and having a drink among obvious low-lives and criminal types. The smoke screens is kind of a play on words for it's meaning of deceit and the combination of the collective, crowded cigarette smoke literally forming a foggy screen in pockets around the bar.
This third track is called "The Dwarven Army." It's largely percussion led, as I pictured broad-framed warriors with oversized, blocky hands more than likely not deft enough to play most instruments well. We have some war horns sounding the call as the army begins its march. This track is all about power and force.
Next up is "It's a Good Day." This started out as an Elven kind of piece, and I think it could still be used in something of that nature. But overall, I think it turned into just a happy day in a nice village somewhere. The ascending/descending harp and plucky strings just feel airy and uplifting. The woodwinds taking the leads just give it that last over-the-top feeling of tranquility and pleasantness.
And lastly, we have "Halloween Lullaby." The spooky, fantastical celeste takes the leads. I paired it with a piano to give it a little depth. Then we have some bass strings to give us a more sinister feeling. But we get a little playful with the added woodwinds. They give us an element of a kind of playful fantasy that keep this track from being straight-up horror. I could see this being used in a dark fantasy project with a "Hocus Pocus" kind of feeling. It's Halloween, but it's also a bit magical.
I'll start a private poll for the second tier and higher to cast your vote for the piece you want finished. Voting will end October 18th, so there's plenty of time to decide!
Thanks so much for your continued support and patience! I hope you've all been well!
