Hello Everyone,

Today we have December's Poll up and running. The holidays and work were especially hectic for me this year. More so than normal, so I apologize for not having this done sooner. This time around we have 5 new samples ready to go.

The first is called "The Courage of One." It's a Chinese, hybrid beat featuring the traditional Guzheng and Pipa, which are the first two "plucky" instruments you hear respectively. This is a hero theme, so the pacing and sound is fairly noble and upbeat. The drums provide a pop or hip hop element and the lead melody is taken by woodwinds and the Erhu. At the very end, the strong horns play a counter melody and provide that last little bit of honor to the tone.

The second is a dark gypsy piece named "Immortality Ritual." It starts with a repeating, descending riff on a Tamboura, an instrument similar to a Mandolin. We have some dark, medieval sounding strings providing our swelling chords. We have a Bulgarian choir that really helps set the mood with their chant-like singing. The violin takes the lead and plays a flowing, haunting melody.

Next up is "Swinging Keys," named so for the bouncy piano rhythm. The piano sets the tone immediately as it explodes on the scene. The lead melody is taken by a few groups of woodwinds. The brass really provides a lot of punch and is fun in this one. After a few bars that set the mood, we go into a small build-up with a synth riser that helps explode us into the chorus. The Saxophone blares on the scene and the piano's bass line turns it up full force.

The fourth is another hero theme, this one in more of a Sci-Fi / Action vein. We open with some bold chords and a little horn to set up our over-the-top, save the day feeling. After the intro, the bass starts pumping and the deep percussion booming. I can fully imagine a single hero flying in to save the city from certain destruction. Especially once the piece hits full force with the snare drum line and horns.

And lastly we have "Tethered Torment." This is a crawling, dark tension builder. The clock is the central core that ties everything together and it starts to increase its pace as the track picks up. The strings are droning and eerie. Once the higher pitched anvils and the short horns kick in, we've gone full dark side. I thought this would be a nice theme for a stalker or killer in a movie. Who knows what kind of unspeakable horrors are running through his mind?
