Wolf presses upward toward the main buildings of the Hirata Estate, which are ablaze with fire. Through the gate, he finds The Owl, his adoptive father, who appears wounded and near death.

The Owl hands Wolf the Hidden Temple Key and asks him not to forget the "Iron Code". As he breathes his last, he painfully explains to Wolf that his utmost priority is to protect his master with his very life should it come down to that.
