Sega Saturn emulation has always been a hit and miss affair whenever I've tried it in the past, I've tried a few emulators like Yabause and Kronos which I had some success with but were far from perfect so I've not played many games on the system. That's until I discovered Ymir and it's absolutely class! Released a few month ago this emulator just works! I tried around 20 games and they all ran flawlessly, it supports CHD, BIN+CUE, IMG+CCD, MDF+MDS, and ISO, I've been using CHD's with no problems. Ymir is a doddle to set up and has a nice user friendly UI to make the whole experience of emulating Saturn games now a breeze plus it gets updated on a regular basis.
The Saturn is well known for it's near arcade perfect shmups and it being my favorite genre I thought I'd check a few out using Ymir, they all ran fine with no probs. Here's a quick look at 5 cracking shumps on the Saturn running perfect on this awesome new emulator....
