I set out solo to a top-secret stocked trout lake for an ice fishing adventure I won’t forget. This pond is loaded with brown, rainbow, and tiger trout — and the action did NOT disappoint.

My underwater camera struggled in the dark water, but the fish were definitely there. After a few bites on the jaw jacker and hand line… BAM — the flag went off and I landed the biggest trout I’ve ever caught, measuring 20 inches!

After relocating to a second spot, I topped off the day with a beautiful rainbow trout to complete an incredible solo outing.
