Dan here with DC Outdoors — and today I’m back out on public land in Alberta, hiking solo through deep snow in search of moose and deer antler sheds.
But there’s a problem…
There are almost no fresh tracks, the snow is deep, and if there are any sheds out here, they could be buried, already found, or not even dropped yet. That makes shed hunting a serious challenge.
In this video, I cover miles of snowy terrain, looking for signs of moose and deer, while also setting up trail cameras in areas that should hold animals. If I can find the right locations, these cameras could pay off big later in the season.
Along the way, I’m also hunting snowshoe hare and rabbit, and sharing how I decide where to look when conditions aren’t ideal.
