Hello, welcome to EZ Eatery! Today I'm cooking in the kitchen with my lovely daughter, Taylor! After living in Houston, and visiting all of the southern states, she learned how to make a beautiful seafood boil. She was excited to share with us the tricks and tips to making an authentic seafood boil. Let's get to the recipe...
Seafood Boil
2-3 lemons
3 cloves garlic
2 large white onions
Smoked paprika
Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
Old Bay Seasoning
Cayenne
1 stick of butter
Zatarain's Liquid Crab Boil
Smoked sausage
Boiled eggs
3-4 lbs crab legs
3-4 lbs shrimp
3 corn on the cobs cut into thirds
5lbs small red or yellow potatoes
2 TBSP white vinegar
In a very large stock pot (or 2) bring some water to a boil. Add in onions, garlic, and lemons. Now we're going to add in all the seasonings. She said until the boiled water turns a brownish color. No measurements, just add what sounds good to you. The cayenne is what makes it super spicy. Add in the sausage, corn, potatoes, and crab for 12 minutes. Add in shrimp and boiled eggs, boil for and additional 3-4 minutes. Drain out all of the deliciousness into a strainer and pick out the onions, garlic cloves, and lemon. Dump onto a sheet pan and enjoy! We served with a side of melted butter and biscuits.
Taylor also gave us a little lesson on how to get into a crab leg the proper way. She's like the crab queen.
Thank you so much for cooking with us! I certainly had a blast hanging out with my daughter and thoroughly enjoyed watching her cook us an amazing seafood boil!
