The Sculling swim drill is one of the more elusive freestyle-swimming techniques to master. Otherwise known as the “catch and pull-through,” it is an important skill for swimmers of any level to master.
By practicing sculling, you may be able to correct for one of the most common hand-position errors; it's ideal for swimmers trying to lengthen their strokes.
For this drill and the next (ep.17, Doggy Paddle), Coach and Swim Smooth founder Paul Newsome slows down the swim current from the Endless Pools Fastlane® for his in-place demo.
Note: beginning around the 5:15 mark, the water distorts the proportional size of the Endless Pools Fastlane® swim-current generator. The Fastlane unit measures just 34"" tall, 18"" deep, and 29"" wide.
