A Westbound SCT train passes the defect detector , at Heathfield , in the Adelaide Hills. I have featured this in a previous video , and assumed it was an optical device...but after further research , I found it is actually an "Audio" detector ! This unit "listens" to the wheels and can pick up many faults , like bearings, flat spots and dragging equipment...how about that !
Bonus points if you catch the "Seinfeld" reference ??
