After a long and drawn out motor replacement , Dash8 40-CW "881" is back in service!. After a week of running in and speed matching, the 15 year old GE is back on the rails and earning her keep.
This video was a bit of a rush job, as I had limited time to shoot and edit the footage, so lighting and composition could be better...
If you have been following the story, it was a mission to get a genuine replacement motor, but one was found and installed . The other two Dash8's are getting a heart transplant, with the new motor style, which involves the driveline being changed to a Hex drive. A video of that will be posted as soon as the first loco is done , but in the meantime, enjoy 881 chugging around the lower level of the "Birdwood Sub" .
