Numerical simulation on the basis of the Barkley model. The two scroll waves have the same chirality but drift along different edges of the trough. When they meet one is intermittently pushed off its edge but eventually reattaches to continue its drift. The black and white panel shows the three-dimensional system as viewed from the top.
