Hello! My name is Jon Watts. I’m the guy who’s been behind the QuakerSpeak camera for the past six years.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to you, our viewers. This season the QuakerSpeak channel surpassed 2.7 million views. We are reaching more seekers than ever, and inspiring conversation in Quaker meetings all across the world.

It is thanks to you, our viewers, that we have this kind of reach. Thank you for subscribing and sharing our weekly videos and for all of our supportive comments and for your donations on Patreon.

I also have an announcement to make, which is that this will be my last video as the director of QuakerSpeak. These past six years have been such an amazing journey for me. I’ve gotten to interview some of my personal heroes, make new Friends, and gotten to be a witness as something that started out as just a dream became a reality, and then something that has a real impact on the Religious Society of Friends.

Thank you for coming along for the journey of this past 6 years, and I hope that we can stay in touch! While I don’t yet know what my next project will be, I do hope that it will faithfully build on the work that I’ve done here at QuakerSpeak and I would be honored if you wanted to join me. I’ll post the link to sign up for my newsletter in the description of this video.

One of my favorite parts of this job every year has been composing the music that would end up in the QS videos for the season. If you’ve enjoyed the music that we use, I have made that available on my bandcamp page for download. Link is also in the description.

I am very happy to say that QuakerSpeak will continue, stronger than ever. We have been busy searching for a successor in my role as the director of the project. We’ve met a lot of great applicants and we’re very close to making a decision! I am confident that I’m leaving the project in good hands.

Finally, I want to personally thank each and every person who has agreed to appear in a QuakerSpeak video. Talking in front of a camera can be nerve wracking. Every person who agreed to be interviewed put serious trust in me that we would publish something faithful to the spirit of our conversation. I sincerely hope that I carried that responsibility well, and want to thank you for your vulnerability, your courage, faithfulness, and your work in the world. Without you, there would be no QuakerSpeak videos.

Thank you so much for these six amazing years, and please stay tuned as we have some exciting announcements coming up.
