The COVID lockdowns were difficult for everyone in society; for many people they were devastating. John Carpay of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) has written a book about the violations of the Canadian Charter that occurred during that time. JCCF has also posted a free download report about the impact of digital currencies on your freedoms. These issues are directly connected. Digital currencies, which are being proposed, could violate many more freedoms than lockdowns! Public opinion on lockdowns is split - but Carpay's book is about Charter freedoms, not one or another point of view. Many people agreed with COVID lockdowns as a way of protecting the vulnerable; many people disagreed. No matter your point of view, John Carpay's book is an important read right now, because governments are pushing for a digital currency which would appear as a 'Trojan Horse" of "personal convenience," but could end up eroding and perhaps taking away all of your Charter Rights. Perhaps...a digital currency could be an integral part of a 'climate lockdown.' Digital currency is NOT the same as physical cash - digital currency can be programmed to expire, to limit your purchases of things, and to be your 'carbon ration' monitor. The climate cult loves the idea of rationing people's access to food, energy or freedoms - and they would promote the use of a War Time Measures Act to make it a reality! "Personal carbon rations" and "Climate lockdowns" have been envisioned for a long time in the climate activist community. The various 'vaxport' apps showed that a carbon ration could be incorporated; many climate activists invoke the methods of the COVID lockdown as now a way to 'save the planet.' Worse...digital currency (and ID) would introduce the potential for a Chinese-style 'social credit' world, where what you might say online, or who you associate with, might 'black mark' your social credit, and then deny you access to digital services! IF physical cash is the medium of exchange for transactions, then this dystopia would never come to pass. BUT if cash is sidelined and a digital currency made mainstream - expect other negative consequences. Be prepared.
