Kings and Generals and Wizards and Warriors animated lore documentary series on the world of Tolkien - Middle-Earth continues with a video on the Grand Strategy of Sauron, as we discuss how he wanted to conquer the world. In this deep-dive into the history of Middle-earth, we explore how Sauron, Morgoth’s greatest lieutenant, transformed the lessons of the First Age into a grand strategy that nearly conquered all free peoples during the Third Age. While Morgoth relied on brute force and overwhelming armies, Sauron refined his master’s methods, creating a far more flexible and dangerous approach. From the rise of the Necromancer in Dol Guldur to the manipulation of the Nazgûl, Orcs, Easterlings, Haradrim, and Corsairs of Umbar, we examine how Sauron used proxy wars, asymmetric warfare, and covert influence to weaken the Elves, Dwarves, Dunedain, and Northmen.
