20 SAE is much smoother and comes out faster with a needle nose than 30 SAE. The 30 weight oil made my Ryder sluggish - did not help with velocity.

DO NOT jam needle nose against spring guide. It runs through the mainspring. Keep needle in FREE space.

I like using Ballistol for my youth spring guns and spring pistols. Others want by-the-book lube.
