For pump guns, I just can't risk Ballistol inside because what can work in a Red Ryder can DESTROY an 880. There are light alcohols and other additives that may or may not affect the 880 severely. GREAT for 880 wipe down!
One Ryder owner claimed to use WD-40 for decades in his RR, but that DOESN'T WORK IN AN 880 AND IS WELL DOCUMENTED. THE DISTILLATES DO HARM PUMP GUNS.

I did take the Ballistol plunge with my best Red Ryder 4 years ago.
The youth rifle is shooting great!
Larry from Alabama made the best case that the light lubes - 5 to 10 weight - EXCEL In the small spring guns.
🌟That worked well for me and old timers agreed, and they have been using 10 weight ND, as shown in video, for their Ryders. So Ballistol and the 10 weight ND Pure Guard are both winners for an RR.🌟
Get a needle nose for the Pure Guard.
