On January 26, 2021, Elbit Systems of Israel announced that it was awarded a contract valued at approximately $172M to supply light tanks to the army of a country in the Asia Pacific.

According to the press release, Elbit Systems will supply the “Sabrah” light tanks based on the tracked ASCOD platform and on the wheeled Pandur II 8X8 platform.

The Sabra Light Tanks of the Philippines will soon be joining its mechanized division adding more fire-power to its current battlegroup.
