Future Littoral Monitoring Stations of the Philippine Navy
On September 26, Philippine Navy Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo visited and inspected the retired gas platforms Nido and Matinloc off of Palawan to assess their viability and feasibility for the AFP’s planned conversion of the two gas platforms into littoral monitoring stations for the Philippine Navy.
The conversion of the two gas platforms will serve as observation posts for the Recto bank and the Malampaya gas platform.
