I have wanted to visit this parkrun since it started several months ago, but was waiting for a weekend when Poppy could join me. Rain was forecast but we had a weekend free so we headed over to Ilkley to run East Holmes Field parkrun.

Four laps of a field in winter has falling over written all over it, but the mud wasn't too bad with only one slippy corner (so far... I'm sure this will get worse/better over winter depending on whether you like mud or not). The real trip hazard here is the tree roots so you do have to keep your wits about you on the second half of each lap. For a four lapper around a field then this was a really lovely run! Running by the river was lovely and the views up to Ilkley Moor were lovely too.

The team were super friendly, and very funny, and West Yorkshire Police there to promote harassment free running for women was brilliant. Huge thanks to the whole of the volunteer team for a really lovely morning.

Do head over to Outside the Box for post-parkrun coffee/breakfast. It is a lovely community café and a great place to get warm while chatting all things parkrun.
